New house in Ronco all'Adige: floors and bathrooms

from the house the tenant."

We enter the home of Andrea and Lisa, a young couple at their first experience of living together! Roberto and Greta took care of the floors and bathrooms of their first "nest". How did it go? Let's ring the doorbell and find out!

Hello! I'm Roberto Marin, and today I'm taking you on a tour of the home of Andrea and Lisa, a young, bubbly couple who have taken the plunge by building their first home and moving in together. I was personally involved in the project together with Greta, who came in afterwards to define the bathrooms during the design phase.

The two came to Fratelli Pellizzari with quite clear ideas: they wanted a house with a modern and minimalist style, but at the same time fresh and welcoming, with light tones and completed with fine finishes.

Both Greta and I got on with them straight away! They gave us total confidence and the harmony that was created allowed us to quickly get to the point, meeting their tastes and expectations. Their collaboration was also decisive during the works in helping us to face and solve the small/big problems that always arise in construction.

Andrea and Lisa involved us in the creation of the interior porcelain stoneware floors in the staircase and in the two bathrooms of the house.

I'll cut the introduction short so you can see the finished product... Come on, let's ring the bell and go for a walk!

Living room and modern kitchen

When we went to visit Lisa and Andrea it was only a month after they had started living together, the house was still missing some furniture and, according to them, a few plants (a problem that we soon solved by bringing them their first pot of succulents, a respectable inauguration!). They were a bit disorientated, let's admit it, but they had already started to appreciate the beauty of life together as well as that of their new home, which they were happy to share with us!

Let's start by entering the living area, where the couple created a large open space with light tones and a modern style, just as they dreamed. Here they decided to use a 90x90 cement-effect stoneware floor with the special "protect" finish. This is an antibacterial treatment on the tiles which is always active and lasts almost forever, making the floor particularly hygienic by eliminating 99.9% of bacteria and fungi. Large format stoneware is very popular in the creation of modern settings, as it reduces the presence of unsightly joints, giving continuity and airiness.

The grey flooring, chosen in a warm shade to make the room more welcoming and less austere, was combined with white resin-effect tiles laid and joined at 45 degrees to create a stoneware staircase with a monolithic appearance.

Unfortunately, something went wrong during the creation of the interior staircase, during the stabilisation phase: measurements were taken incorrectly and we ended up with a step that was slightly shorter than all the others; an error that was optically remedied by installing a special railing lower than the original position chosen, so as to remedy the problem that arose during the construction phase, at least visually. We too make mistakes sometimes and denying it would have made no sense: Lisa and Andrea were very understanding and today, thanks to the correct positioning of the railing, they tell us they no longer notice the defect.

The living area bathroom

The bathroom designs, which we worked on together with Greta, came about almost naturally: both of them had clear ideas about what they wanted to see, and a genuine harmony allowed us to meet their expectations and tastes without difficulty. Lisa is super satisfied with Greta's work: "She understood what I wanted straight away! She was really good." It has to be said that a good alchemy often makes the difference!

The small bathroom in the living area was made more interesting with the full-height covering in wood-effect stoneware, the same as we will find on the upper floor, laid in the laid in the Italian herringbone pattern: an important detail that gave more character to this guest bathroom and, at the same time, makes it seem larger and more spacious by playing with the height and dynamism of the herringbone pattern.

The faux wood tile is combined with a large matt lacquered mud-coloured cabinet with a resin top, on which rests a capacious washbasin in a matt finish, completed by a precious stainless steel tap. Suspended sanitaryware makes the room even lighter and more modern, breaking away from the cement-effect porcelain stoneware that is used throughout the ground floor.

Wood-effect stoneware on the first floor

Climbing the white interior staircase we reach the bedroom area, which is floored with the same wood-effect stoneware we found in the bathroom on the ground floor. Certainly a material much debated among wood flooring purists, but a winning choice for the couple.

You can enjoy the technical advantages of having a tiled floor, while visually maintaining the beauty of wood: in this case, a cold-toned wood is graphically reproduced with evident dark veins, and the very natural appearance was favoured by the choice of matching joints.

The sleeping area

The master bathroom

The bathroom in the sleeping area is now the bathroom for the exclusive use of the couple: a relaxing environment where you can recharge your energy at the end of the day and enjoy a pampering for yourself. Here, too, the wood-effect stoneware is in total contrast to the corten metal-effect stoneware covering the shower.

Set in a niche, the large shower cubicle with resin shower tray is characterised by a darker covering than the rest of the settings, and by the particular use of different formats that create dynamism and importance, as well as by the installation of a LED bar that creates a pleasant atmosphere. Here too we find the refinement of steel for the taps and shower head, combined with profiles that design the space of the detergent niche

The choice of coloured sanitary ware, which they were both initially undecided about, is also unusual. Today Lisa says she appreciates them more and more and has even received several compliments from friends! It's certainly not an obvious choice, but by going outside the box we managed to give this bathroom an extra boost.

The brown tone of the bidet and the toilet is echoed by the radiator and the wall-mounted bathroom cabinet. The cabinet consists of a spacious drawer unit and the top with integrated washbasin covered in stoneware which also goes up the back. The washbasin is equipped with a special chute that drains the water into a very fine channel. Finally, the entire piece of furniture is measured by a large mirror with integrated LED light.

MODERN BATHROOMS: PROJECTS AND IDEAS

What do Lisa and Andrea think?

Thank you! ?

First of all we would like to thank Lisa and Andrea: for your hospitality and kindness and for entrusting us with the important task of making your home! We wish you happy growth in your new home and more beautiful succulents in the near future! (?)

Thanks also to you for taking the time to read this article realisation! I hope you enjoyed it and that it has inspired you to renovate your own home. If you have any doubts or questions you can write to me below using the comments box. If, on the other hand, you would like to make an appointment to renovate your home, use the form below. We will be happy to accompany you on this difficult but beautiful journey!

Keep in mind, however, that we are a small company, a mix between a team of interior designers and site technicians and craftsmen. In short, we are a small family construction company specialising in interior finishes and we like to find the right solutions and work with the most beautiful and newest products. We only use Made in Italy products and give a 10-year guarantee, so it is difficult for us to use cheap or first-rate products.

Therefore:

  • We can do very few jobs in a year: on average a dozen turnkey jobs;
  • We don't have the capacity to do huge jobs;
  • Nor can we move too far from Vicenza-Verona.

This is because we have to provide the right assistance to jobs and customers. That's why I'm already warning you that if you need to lay floors thousands of metres long, or if the site is far from Vicenza, Padua and Verona, the areas where we operate, we're probably not the right contact for you.

If, on the other hand, you live or will be living in these provinces, you can visit us in our shops and we will be happy to design your home together.
