Harmonious contrasts
For the kitchen furnishing, the two non-colors par excellence were paired, the black of metal-effect gres and the white of the matte lacquer. After comparing the island solution with the peninsula one, evaluating the pros and cons of both, the first solution was chosen. The element at the center of the scene is the island, composed of a counter completely covered in very large gres slabs, from the top to the sides, but which also forms the cantilevered top, a minimal support that allows to have a snack area where breakfasts and quick lunches can be consumed.
Island monolith: protagonist of the space
The design peculiarity of this monolith is given by the choice to leave it free from any appliance, a decision that allows to have the greatest possible working space usable for chopping vegetables, placing hot pots, kneading and slicing. The surface of the top hosts only an electrical tower for sockets, very practical to connect small electronic aids to the preparation and transformation of food.
The working area: functionality and aesthetics
The storage bases were arranged in an L shape along the walls: in the windowed part an integrated sink entirely made of grès joined at 45 degrees was prepared, equipped with a mixer tap with pull-out spray, while on the short side we installed an induction hob with integrated hood, a choice that allowed us to use the overhead space for a comfortable shelf completely covered in gres with integrated LED to illuminate the working area.
Details that balance and harmonize
We also designed two wooden shelves, with burnished aluminum support, which catch the eye by warming this kitchen environment and which, in addition to the practical function, also have a decorative function if equipped with plants and objects. The columns rise in the final part of the kitchen composition where they house the ventilated oven, the 75 cm fridge and the freezer with three large drawers, all finished with the same white matte lacquer as the bases.
