Hi! I'm Ilaria Tognolo and today I'm going to tell you about this beautiful house in Vicenza.
The house belongs to a beautiful family: a very close-knit couple with two grown-up children and a small dog! The time had come for them to realise the nest of their dreams in which to continue growing their family. After several interviews and finding the right understanding, we began the collaboration that led to the completion of this house in the Vicenza area.
Together with my colleagues, I took care of the flooring, the cladding, the lighting, the bathrooms, the kitchen and the furnishings. In short, we tackled the whole house together!
The architect Grignolo Gianluca was responsible for the design, and he created a house with a special structure: the entrance is on the ground floor, which has a terrace with a view of the valley, where we find the living room, the kitchen and a guest bathroom; the internal stoneware stairs lead to the basement, where we find the sleeping area with the bedrooms and the remaining bathrooms.
The customers, who are rightly demanding, have made various requests. In particular, they wanted to be able to separate the living areas without drastically interrupting the open space, and to be able to cook while admiring the view of the beautiful wooded valley, while at the same time installing a steam fireplace in the living area. In response to their requests, we came up with a rather unusual solution: a double-sided monolith to divide and accommodate the kitchen and living area in a functional way.
But even before these requests, one of their wishes was made clear to me straight away: wooden floors everywhere! They were satisfied with their wish to have a light oak parquet floor for the majority of the house, and we then moved on to exchange ideas on the construction of the house's three bathrooms, bedrooms and exterior.
It was a very large and demanding project, but it also gave me a lot of satisfaction. The family is extremely happy with the result and I hope you will enjoy it as much as they did!
