A made-to-measure kitchen in an industrial style house, Arzignano

"Every room has a mood or personality, sometimes latent,
and it is this that the interior designer must bring out."

This time Chiara was responsible for the creation of a tailor-made kitchen in an industrial-style house: for two culinary enthusiasts it was a dream come true!

Hi! I'm Chiara Pellizzari and today I'm going to take you on a journey of discovery of a unique creation. I'm already saying that we're not used to supplying just the kitchen: when we take on a client, we don't act in a "watertight compartment". But this time I made an exception, because I was approached by two friends of mine who had moved into their newly renovated house together with their cat and dog, and because they didn't want to save money on the kitchen.

Something important was missing in this loft, which had been renovated before our arrival, the thing that makes a house a real home: the kitchen.

Both passionate about food and cooking (and excellent cooks I must say!), they couldn't find a company that would provide them with the solution of their dreams and that would suit the style of their home. They couldn't rely on mass distribution either: the out-of-square walls and the uneven plastered stone wall meant that the kitchen had to be made to measure, and they clearly wanted a robust and durable kitchen. In order to find the perfect solution, we had to go back to the office to take measurements over and over again, because something never quite fit! It was quite a challenge, but in the end we did it and, with the support of our trusted craftsmen, we put together the kitchen to complete this home with its strong industrial flavour.

Let's go and see the final result together right now, come on!

Chiara tells you about the kitchen!

Tailor-made kitchen for our customers

The couple share a passion for cooking, a common interest that has resulted in the desire to have a very large and well-structured kitchen. However, as we have already mentioned, the technical difficulties caused by the irregular space gave us a lot of trouble. But the customers were determined: they wanted a new kitchen that would meet their dreams and expectations, that would have a long "life expectancy", and therefore be robust and hard-wearing.

A good kitchen has to withstand cuts, withstand heat well, not risk staining from the various ingredients and liquids that will inevitably fall on it, be easy to clean and sanitise, and be functional and practical, as well as beautiful and elegant. These are all factors that we must take into account when designing a new kitchen and a kitchen that will not have a short life.

For this project we have departed from a scheme that we are used to proposing and which we consider to be successful: tall units at the back and a counter at the front. On this occasion, where the starting conditions were special and the needs different, we decided together with the customers to opt for a different layout. The kitchen is arranged in a horseshoe shape: there are two worktops on opposite sides, while the side section attached to the wall contains the tall units.

Starting with the kitchen countertop against the stone-clad wall, we can see how the stoneware rises from the resin floor with its dark colour to cover the countertop: it is a metal-effect porcelain stoneware, which the clients chose to respect the style of the home, in an anthracite colour. It was decided to work with large custom-made slabs joined with the sides of the same material at 45 degrees to create a monolithic piece. It was very difficult for our installers to install, considering the state of the walls and the journey of the huge slab around the house and then up the stairs: fortunately we have a great team!

Stoneware is a great ally in the kitchen, find out why here:  stoneware kitchen top

On this top we find respectively the gas hobs mounted on glass-ceramic, a request from customers who love traditional cooking, the pipe extractor hood with an interesting design and the integrated washbasin, also covered in stoneware jointed at 45 degrees and provided with a custom-made cover plate covered in the same material.

The modern kitchen of this industrial house

Continuing along the wall that houses the 250 cm high tall units, so as to hide the technical parts that needed to be concealed, we find ample space for the pantry in the compartments above and below the oven. Next to it we find the refrigerator covered like the rest of the doors, lacquered matt "London smoke" grey on the outside: we like to give continuity and linearity to our kitchens.

Here is an article to help you understand how to arrange your appliances in the best possible way: kitchen: distribution of electric appliances

We created a made-to-measure door next to the tall fridge unit to optically resolve the incorrect squaring of the walls and hide the boiler. Leaving it exposed would have been uncomfortable and unpleasant, so we chose to create a fake pantry: custom-made pieces allow us to deal with any inconvenience.

On the second floor of the kitchen, then, we notice how the work space is larger than normal: customers had told me that they needed a lot of space, even in length, to cook more comfortably and, therefore, space they had! The counter has large groove-opening drawers with 45-degree machined fronts: a detail you notice when you open them is the colour inside the drawers, a dark grey that matches and differs from the 'London smoke' exterior.

The back of this counter is clad in natural untreated oak, recreating a balcony for the cocktail area. Ideal for entertaining guests. Wood is used again for the bench that flanks the kitchen, a choice of consistent materials that has allowed the creation of what doubles as a separé from the entrance staircase. They can thus remain in each other's company while one of them cooks, perhaps reading a book or drinking a good glass of wine! The image that emerges is one of a kitchen full of food... and love!

Made-to-measure kitchens by Fratelli Pellizzari

This was quite a challenge, but the customers were very happy with the result and told me that they were very happy with their new kitchen! They are already getting the most out of it and have yet to find any weak points.

We have been designing and offering kitchens to our customers for a couple of years now and we are not going to stop. Our kitchens rely on materials and craftsmanship from our beautiful country, while we continue to search for the best materials and designs to offer our customers.

You will be able to see the display of some kitchens signed by Fratelli Pellizzari in our headquarter in Costo di Arzignano: in the showroom you can find some assembled examples and also the experts who deal with the design of the kitchens.

You may be wondering how much such a made-to-measure project costs, and rightly so. Given our vow to transparency, I leave you with an article that will help you orient your choice and better understand what kind of company we are and, above all, how we work. I'll put my hands forward by saying that our prices are not similar to those of the big chains, but are motivated by the use of refined, quality materials, with the guarantee that it will remain in perfect condition for many long years of your life and that of your family!

  • We are a small company that works with "Made In Italy" products of medium-high range, we like to work with beautiful and new products, which also makes them unaffordable at times. We also provide services, some compulsory others less so but recommended, which affect the final cost of the product;
  • We can only do a few jobs in a year, and we make a point of following our customers with care and attention;
  • We do not move too far from Vicenza and Verona, otherwise we would not be able to follow the work as we would like.
