Geberit: Performance in 2024
Despite the sharp decline in the European construction sector, the Geberit Group — a global leader in the production of sanitaryware and bathroom solutions — closed 2024 with net sales of CHF 3,085 million. This figure is in line with 2023 levels in current currencies, but represents a 2.5% increase when adjusted for negative currency effects, which amounted to CHF 76 million. The EBITDA margin is expected to show a slight decline compared to 2023, mainly due to significant investments in marketing, digitalization, and IT projects.
The sales growth was driven exclusively by higher volumes. In the first half of 2024, restocking by wholesalers combined with the launch of new products allowed Geberit to strengthen its market position.
Analyzing performance across different geographic regions, sales in Europe grew by 1.9% in 2024 (currency-adjusted), despite the sanitary segment continuing to be affected by difficult market conditions. Above-average increases were recorded in Eastern Europe (+7.1%), Italy (+6.2%), the Benelux countries (+3.8%), and Germany (+3.2%). Austria also showed a slight increase (+0.3%), while sales in Switzerland remained stable compared to the previous year (-0.1%). On the other hand, revenues declined in Western Europe (-2.6%) and Northern Europe (-4.2%). In non-European markets, Geberit saw significant growth in the Middle East/Africa (+17.1%), the Americas (+3%), and the Far East/Pacific (+0.2%), where a decline in China was offset by strong growth in India.
Regarding the Group’s three Business Units, the Installation & Flushing Systems division closed 2024 with a 4.8% increase in sales, while the Piping Systems and Bathroom Systems divisions recorded respective increases of 1.3% and 1.1%.
Outlook for 2025
Looking ahead to 2025, Geberit’s management expects a possible stabilization in construction demand, following the significant decline seen since mid-2022. In Europe, during the first nine months of 2024, the number of building permits issued was slightly lower than in 2023 (-1.9%). In key markets such as Germany, the Nordic countries, and Austria, the number of permits dropped by a total of 12%, suggesting a further mild decline in the new construction segment.
In contrast, the renovation sector — which accounts for around 60% of Geberit’s business — is expected to remain stable or experience slight growth. In non-European markets, the outlook for 2025 is mixed: demand in India and the Gulf region is expected to remain strong, while a further contraction is anticipated in China.

The flush plate is the only visible part of a concealed cistern for the end user, and therefore becomes an element that helps define the bathroom's overall design. It should not be underestimated: an unattractive flush plate can compromise the success of an otherwise well-designed space. Paying attention to details—such as the choice of the flush plate—can make the difference between a dull bathroom and one that feels thoughtfully curated and refined.
Geberit offers a wide range of flush plates in various shapes, colors, materials, and models, capable of meeting any customer’s expectations.
A new bathroom should satisfy its owner for many years. In the case of Geberit flush plates, this means offering the highest possible standards in terms of quality, along with an elegant and timeless design.
The company also offers an innovative technology that can be installed inside the Geberit Sigma cistern, hidden behind one of their stylish flush plates: it's called the DuoFresh system, a solution designed to eliminate unpleasant odors. The system activates as soon as someone sits down on the toilet: air is extracted and then reintroduced into the room after being purified!

Whether you're addressing a special customer request or looking for a specific construction solution, the extensive Geberit Duofix Sigma8 and Sigma12 installation element ranges are perfectly equipped to meet every requirement.
For drywall applications, the company recommends the Geberit Duofix system, specifically designed for this type of installation. In this version, the cistern is integrated into a self-supporting frame module.

And the benefits are felt by end customers as well, who choose Geberit’s innovative solutions: you can offer them a cleaner job site, the possibility for future changes or easier renovations, and—last but not least—reduced flushing noise thanks to the system’s acoustic insulation.
