Renovation of a house on the border between Vicenza and Verona

The beating heart of the house is the spacious kitchen area, dominated by a large central island and an imposing full-height cabinetry. Entering, one is immediately struck by the balance between the dark wood of the tall units and the brightness of the light stone-effect porcelain stoneware floor.

The island is a true masterpiece of functionality and aesthetics. The countertop, which also extends along the sides, is made of a light porcelain stoneware with warm veining, which perfectly matches the wood fronts in "sample stain".

But the real beauty lies in the details that simplify the life of the cook of the house:

• We have added pull-out drawers in the pantry so that nothing is ever out of sight.
• The oven has been built in with a retractable glass system: a safety choice to make the passage in the working area smoother and without obstacles.
• The imposing dark cabinetry is lightened by two large vertical display cabinets, backlit with LED strips, which showcase glasses and bottles, creating depth.
• The sink is integrated into the island, made in the same porcelain stoneware as the countertop for total continuity, completed by the precision of the very practical tap with pull-out spray,
• Three modern black pendant lamps illuminate the area, where elegant matching stools are placed.

To complete the harmony of the spaces and ensure visual continuity between the environments, we proposed laying a porcelain stoneware flooring with stone effect in a light and natural shade. This choice was not only aesthetic, but driven by the clients' desire to "illuminate" the space, creating a pleasant contrast with the historic elements of the renovation.

The selected porcelain stoneware slabs faithfully reproduce the shades and irregularities of natural stone, giving a tactile and visual sensation of great materiality. Thanks to the light finish, the space seems to expand, capturing the natural light that enters from the large openings and giving back an atmosphere of order and formal cleanliness.

In this bathroom we wanted to create an environment that spoke the same language as the rest of the house. For this reason, as a base, we chose to lay on the floor the same light stone-effect porcelain stoneware that you have already encountered in the kitchen: a choice of continuity that visually enlarges the space and gives a great visual cleanliness.

For the walls, instead, we looked for warmth. We decided to use thermally treated wood to cover the washbasin area, recalling the same enveloping essence that we dedicated to the night area.
On top of this natural background stands out the suspended white lacquered cabinet, composed of a shelf that hosts a colored ceramic washbasin with soft lines.
To complete the composition, the backlit round mirror and stainless steel taps, chosen for their resistance and for that satin reflection that gives a touch of extreme modernity.

The real character of the project is found in the sanitary area. Here we designed a false wall clad in dark stone-effect porcelain stoneware, creating a strong contrast with the lightness of the floor. On this surface rest the wall-hung sanitary fixtures, also in colored ceramic, coordinated with the washbasin for a harmonious chromatic effect.

But the technical detail that makes the difference is the lighting: we have "detached" the false wall from the wall with LED backlighting that highlights the texture of the dark stone. It is that design touch that transforms a service bathroom into a refined environment, perfect for welcoming your guests.

To connect the day area to the night area, we could not think of a banal staircase. We chose thermally treated oak, a dark and intense wood that fully covers the steps.

The structure is mixed: one part in masonry cladded and one cantilevered part, where the steps seem to float, bringing visual lightness despite the strength of the material. A modern railing with horizontal metal slats ensures safety without closing the space, while recessed step lights and a modern wall light enhance the textures of the wood and the light walls.

We chose to continue the dark thermally treated oak throughout the entire night area. Walking barefoot on such a material wooden floor gives an immediate feeling of warmth, transforming the rooms into a private refuge.

This visual continuity between the staircase and the surfaces of the upper floor removes interruptions, enlarging the spaces and giving the house a strong identity.

It is a sensory journey: it starts from the solidity of the stone-effect porcelain stoneware on the ground floor and arrives at the natural softness of the dark wood in the most intimate area.

In this space we wanted to be bold, playing with a strong yet extremely balanced color palette.

The undisputed protagonists are the large olive green slabs that cover the shower and sanitary area, creating a scenographic background perfect for the suspended furniture. The cabinet is a small design jewel: we chose a light oak structure to warm up the whole, combining it with four large drawers with a screen-printed finish that exactly matches the shade of green of the walls.

The white Corian countertop with integrated washbasin gives visual cleanliness and a pleasant velvety sensation to the touch, topped by a large backlit mirror that enlarges the space.

For the taps, stainless steel confirms itself as the best choice to guarantee hygiene and a shine that does not fear time.

The touch of class? The soap holder niche created inside the shower: we clad it with the same stone-effect porcelain stoneware as the floor, creating a play of material interlocks that gives continuity and harmony to the whole room.

In the most intimate room of the house, we wanted to create an atmosphere of sophisticated elegance, where every element speaks of attention to detail. The true protagonist is the large suspended eucalyptus cabinet: a bold choice that, with its 6 large drawers, combines practicality and aesthetic warmth. But what makes this space unique is the countertop with backsplash in Amazonite-effect porcelain stoneware.

It is a precious surface, with emerald green shades and deep veining, which we cut and worked with extreme precision in our in-house workshop. We did not limit ourselves to the cabinet: we used the same slab to clad the background of the taps and the back of the niche inside the shower, creating a continuous visual reference that transforms the bathroom into a true private spa.

The architectural character of the bathroom is however defined by a tailored installation detail: we designed a scenographic "L" in dark stone-effect porcelain stoneware. This material band starts right from under the sanitary fixtures and rises along the wall of the shower, outlining its edge with millimetric precision.

It is a strong graphic sign that unites the volumes of the room and emphasizes the importance of designing not only the materials, but the way they coexist in the space.
